For Less

For less

I have reached

Headstrong fingers extended

Shimmied a trunk and

Belly-crawled the bough

By ginger slide-steps

Have trembled slim branches

Laughed at the breeze

That lifted my skirt, exposed

For less

Far less

Has tempted

A precarious perch

Emboldened by bravada and

Taste for apple

But now

Earthbound on skinned scared knees

Gazing up through serpent memories

It is too far to fall

You make me laugh

And you make me too hungry

6 degrees of separation

the small world effect

in a big city landscape

difficult for a gypsy to gauge

the perennial new kid

for once

stays

weeks…months…years

unaccustomed

to being recognized

traceable

transient’s anonymity

hostage

to a sticky web of

accountability

a dangerous matrix

could

make an honest woman

on ice

an iced pond

where

perhaps

i do not yet belong

i cannot tread light

and

have forgotten how to swim

where

snowflakes

flaunt a silvery beacon

i beckon softly

as

currents sluice beneath

and

time ticks

where blood

beats red and salty

i beckon to

you

but

am frozen

here

Pas de Trois

Touchpoints in a waltz of time

Trajectories collide

Then turn upon proverbial dime

And three-step out of sight

Turning points from three to two

Present when not expected

Pirouette in sync on cue

But then be disconnected

Pathways criss and cross in trine

Trisect us and divide

They tempt you at that fatal line

Two seize me two your side

I trip the light in triple time

Then sashay off the stage

Watch silent as your stars align

Your plans are dreamt and gauged

Swing free my wants to whirl and spin

My skirts twirl as you turn away

If time swings round we’ll dance back in

To waltz a deux another day

A Window and Other People

i lie
in such a pose
that I see
conveniently
in a town that is not my own
through
A Window

smokey trees
in 7 shades of proximity
a freeway at horizon
cars
go east
cars
go west

circled
in such a pose on
a motel green couch
by the germs
of
Other People

such
is a muse
the disgust
intimate intrigue
of lying down
with dust smoke and
skin cells

Prurient Pigeon Poem (explicit)

Thou art duly forewarned. This is a salacious and silly sonnet. No apologies.
Where doth the pigeon nestle hot and snug
Behind thine zipper pressing for release
Awaiting digits tentative warm tug
And fingertips soft brush and stroking tease
What sayeth thee to pleasure's beck and call
To rise salt tide toward moon's magnetic pull
What sayeth thee to eros throb and fall
That maketh sweet thine member turgid full
And what of lips that whispergraze a thigh
Or lick and nibble hungrily at play
That take thee in and kiss thee desert dry
'Til spent behold we close of raptured day
Pray tell what more could eager mouth desire
Than verily to quench thine fevered fire

Explicit

(not)
Simile and metaphor
Suggestive glimpse of sex
Veiled by adjective du jour
And hinted of in text

Yet sometimes phrases raw and coarse
Are needed for accession
Of fundamental bottomline
Volcanic base expression

Hard core thoughts and wanderings
Are kept with no apologies
Salacious words to spill and spread
On pages more contained than these

Unchaste deeds and blue ideas
In blatant print concealed
By boxes on a closet shelf
Selectively revealed

Ommmmmm

the bouncing chihuahuas
of exterior life
penetrate my skull
yap yip and chew
at the ragged borders
of my bruised brain

the vise
of sharpened awareness
crunches slices tight
around my ankles
clamps me
to the floorboards
as neglected monsters
cold grey and hairless
squeal creep and slither
from under the persian rug

and every one
wants needs has to have
a piece of me

until I scream
for headroom
shriek
for silence
and
reclaim my space
