Poetry
Rows of Words & Punctuation

Disclaimer

To my attention this has come: some
are unaware of the power I bear,
of the rules I'm free to break, to fashion,
to ignore or uphold. Hence, I shall share

the terms of my poetic license. Not all I
write is true or egocentric, though
I use pronouns such as "me" or "I" or "mine."
And when truth lies among the rows

of words and punctuation, still that fails to say
I am my protagonist. When "me" means "me,"
and I use "I" for "I," let not my words lead astray:
I may be lying yet - or playing hyperbole.

Nor are all my words profound at their core:
not all I write is metaphor...

...but much is.
