Just In Case I Die Today

If today should happen
to be a prophecy
fulfilled, will not know.
Nor will you ntil this -- scrawled
in haste and apprehension
on the back of a used envelope --
falls from an unexpected
place, sliding to the ground
with the sigh and stern tap
of paper meeting
floor.

I am thinking the typo and the mistake in the first line are intentional. I am thinking you might want to exagerate it a bit more for the rushed effect.

fyi, i love this.

Not just the moment capture, or the morbid thought, but that i have had the exact same thought. And actually, I too say it aloud or jot it down. My wife hates that I think.
