The Early Days- The infancy of pin-ups: What was there before the pin-up?

Who drew them? What did they look like?
I believe the beginning of the pin-up's roots are in the lush Art Nouveau period, when artists such as Lautrec, Klimt and others were, either in personal or commercial art, depicting women with unabashed sexuality and sensual beauty, meant to be openly appreciated. Note the exposed bosoms on the following ladies at a time when showing one's ankle *gasp*, was quite scandalous.
