Girl in the Garden ( poem goes wth painting by same name)

Blue myth waking under garden-

green singing a strange yellow,

light stalking the silence in fluid roots.

She drank the sound of seeping sun

her marble tongue a trickle of rays

rousing warmth in sleepy veins.

Slowly she rose cold and mute-

a ghost of stone remembering her summer skin

grasses whispering soft beneath bare feet

on flowers of fire she laid her frozen cheek

and breathed.
