Infinite Monkeys. Infinite Typewriters.
More in A Bunch of Monkeys Baby MonkeysI really want to hold one of these until it's time to change the monkey diaper. I don't even want to know.
What is it about babies? We now know that babies are genetically designed to ellicit a protective, loving response. This is helpful in avoiding infanticide. Though among certain species, when a new male takes charge, all babes sired by the previous male will be killed, no matter what. Many science fiction writers have envisioned a future where women will no longer be able to conceive and give birth naturally. The technological interventions are already present in many delivery rooms. Whether you have experienced birth personally or not, how would you describe the process of being born, if you could remember it? The artistic process of creation might be akin to giving birth- its shadow is destruction- how do the two balance each other and what happens when they don't? How do you foresee the future of genetics, birth and other related issues- some of which might be very controversial. Do you ever think about writing about these subjects and what genre you might use, if you did?
