Poem
Suicide (or, There is No Truth, Only Lies)

Prompt from local writers workshop
Diamonds fall
shatter
holding no truth

only lies in this void
where silence screams
dreams turn dark running

to blackened scapes
as night esdrapes faces once
human

Soft music blends
away the jagged edges
that hope once wrought iron

turned to polyester silken softness
by the endless beating of the fragile
wings of moths and swallowed butterflies

souls shred transparent
but are still there
do you scare, do you care

I don’t
at least I lie
to try not to
