Travesty

Interminably Consternation

Taken by the hand
This fearsome Daemon
Legion
Follows obediently
The Goddess speaks
He attends to her words
Ingests the meaning
Knows that he must devour himself
For only in destruction
Will he be whole
And so it came to pass
That Legion bemoaned his loss
For in his feasting
He found that which he had lost
Himself

This reminds me very much of the 'Hero Myth' discussed in Joseph Campbell's The Power of Myth. He also discusses it in the fine PBS series with Bill Moyers. The hero is always depicted as a sacrificer. If you haven't encountered the book or TV series, I highly recommend them.

Thanks Alcuin, I'll have to see if I can source that data. As for this piece, believe me, it was not my intention to paint myself as a hero.
