Merken Sie zu Selbst

Tödliche Liebe

I heard you'd died

Just rumours at first

Then I got your letter

I wanted to scream

Though I could not cry

What now

Who would be there for me
Who would give me recognition

What faceless god would succour me now

Understand?

Yes

You did that

Understood me all too well
Allowed me to define my self
Gave me new reason to fight

What did I give you in return?

I had naught to offer

Only death

How cruel that I made you write that note

And yet herein lies your majesty

How beautifully you wrote it

That is a great end-line there.

Thanks Stephan, occaisionally I get it right!

It kind of makes up for using that most overused word in poetry....succour. Though nothing else quite fit in this instance.

Mos.
