of tawdry wink
of muttered question
and taste of word

the modifier

it is of intent
of dashed lines
of dotted ayes
and length of sentence

the object

it is of spirit
of taut wing
of loose cry
and footprints on snow

aaaaah, you knew I'd have to read this, the titles in Deutsche!

The word play here is excellent, from the title onwards. You've done with the title exactly as I do, given the piece more depth with that initial wordplay.

I'll have to read this again to see if the poem itself really "does it" for me, but the idea of the poem is incredible.  Seriously.  Incredible.  I spend whole months of days and restless nights trying to stumble across novel ideas like this to build a poem around.  I'll look at it more closely later today.  And then I will curse you for having thought of this before I did.
