Der Wurm Dreht

Tödliche Liebe

So the worm turned

How often did you abuse
Degrade the privilege of family

What sort of joy was garnered
The violent rages
Rampant stupidity

Was it sheer disrespect
Or a lack of thought

Does it matter

Of course it does

Father died
He died seeing you on the same road
Shod in the same shoes he wore

A child in your arms

Yes
You made him a grandfather
For which he was glad

The family name goes on

Still
With that comes responsibility
Something you always ignored

Now here we are
Christmas day
Three children to care for

Aaaah the trouble
The rage and violence in them
The yelling from you

Did you learn from father
Sometimes I wonder

Though at least you remember his words

"Fight me all you want son
One day you'll be in my shoes"

Do they fit well

How the worm turns...this could be reference to one's self or his

or her father, though I think in this you are referring to your

father and not yourself.  I think it's written very well and it's

thought provoking.

Those last three lines are awesome, they are real, they are true, and I think you led up to them expertly. I always heard the saying 'you reap what you sow' it has the same meaning in the end.

----- could someone turn the world back over, I'm getting dizzy!

I am orbiting, I don't know where, but I am orbiting something!

Thanks both of you for your comments.

I'm glad you're getting the chance to enjoy my senseless prattle again Sinnaminsun!
