Big Tree

I love trees
They are full of life
They offer shade
Protection from rain
Lemon trees are handy
More so when I need a pee
The cat and I
We loved to climb the trees
We hide from the dog
Annoy the bees
My dog and I
Would chase the cat
High up the tree
He'd stay up there
Waiting for me
But by far the most
The best fun I had
I owe it all to my loving dad
We had a big tree
My favourite one
A gazillion miles high
As big as the sun
My favourite for climbing
Playing my games
I even gave it a name
So Dad gave me this job
It filled me with glee
He wanted me to help you see
My big tree was old
Starting to lean
So Dad gave me an axe
And that summer
I chopped the bastard down
