There's nothing like making a liar out of the priest.
It's good for a child's faith.

I don't suppose that he mentioned the theft of someone else's holy day for Church purposes either...
I can't see Jesus having much to do with oestrus. He only bled once and his daddy fixed it.

Estrus - The period of maximum fertility of the female. According to one of my dictionaries, involves most mammals, except humans. By golly, I think I found a site where I'll actually learn something.
I researched long and hard (probably a bad choice of words) on the equivalent period (oops, did it again) in the human male and finally found it.
It's technical name is:
adulthood.
Or as Leanne would have it, oadulthood.

Child of Earth that I am, that polyester bunny scared the both the bejesus and hell out of me.
Discussions like this have made me quite unpopular at work.
Fact is that Christian Holy Days are modeled around Pagan Rites. It's just a fact. It is history. Amazing that the religious often find stating that fact so threatening.
Amazing that some, oooops, slipping off the edge here, going, going......., that some seem to want to own the concept of god, God, Gods. They differentiate by that capital letter of that "s".
gone.....
that g would be so much better put to use with
goodwill
ingenuity
guiless
giddy
guffaw
good hearted groping
down the pit of no return that I am. Getting a grip. Silly rabbit. Tricks are for kids.
:)
*Emily Rose blushes in embarrasment at this silly rant, bows, and exits less than gracefully*

not really modelled after..they were hiiddden in them. Christianity was fairly ninja early on, hijiacking local religions to increase their numbers and create a level of tolerance for them.

Now, now, folks. Let's not be too harsh on that God fellow, after all, can he help it if the "one true god" has become Schizoid?

Meanwhile, back in my kids' CCD classes they're learning that God made everything.
