The Mechanics of Sex and Life

I want to write my life story
on the inside of your eyelids;
Line seven digits
across the small of your back.
Your thighs will be my tablets,
waiting for a masterpiece
to finally emerge.

Our lives,
once stagnant, common nouns,
will lurch daily
(until they do it unprompted)
into one beatific verb.
Anstey - on May 31 2007

I remember this one. That opening image is such a marvelous barrage on sensibility. This is definitely a favorite of mine.

You certainly have carried the metaphor fully forward. The weakest line is the next-to-last. Perhaps "- finally spontaneously - " would sound better - at least to my ear.
Otherwise, this is simultaneously engaging for its imagary and thought-provoking with its ideas.

it has been a while since i have read poetry, on this medium. i am glad yours is the first, as it elated me. despite the experience and how delighted you ought to sound, by it... there comes to me a sensation of apathy. as if you are blasé, toward such mundanities. perhaps i am misunderstanding it, but it is pleasing and thought-provoking.
