Girl of Hept
I walked upon the sands
Flesh burning off my feet
Soon
I staggered along on stumps
My will pushing me on
For I had hidden something in this desert
In the midst is a forest
Dark
Moist
To there I travelled
Relentless in my desire
I reach the forests edge
Legless
Drawing myself forward
As my flesh is eroded
The mind feeding on the pain
Through trenches
Beetles gnawing on me
Over fallen trees
This flesh pierced with wood
Until at last
I reach the clearing
I soothe my withered form
In the clear waters there
Bereft of one arm
Lost to the beetles
I roll onto my back
There it is
My love
She lies dormant
Sightless
The one reward I granted
The crows recognised my mind
Parting as I dragged myself to her
I gaze upon her
Finally I can yield to the pain
A tremble passes through me as I hear her voice
She calls for me
Words of love and desire
The last thing I hear
Her wishing to look upon me
The larger of the crows hops towards her
Bearing her eyes
She sees me breathe my last
As the Crows receive final payment
