"Curious" mucks up your rhythm (which I know is not rigid, but even loose it exists) -- have you thought about "a questing pen" or something two-syllable instead?
As to the title -- who would appeal to a tree as a partner, if not another tree? Dryad? The earth herself? The woman who sits in the shade and dreams? All three, and a few more options besides? It's tricky without knowing exactly what this is a response to, but then would I think it so tricky if you'd not said it was a response to something? Why can't I write a sentence that doesn't end in a question mark? Does a double negative become a positive or is it just twice as bad as a single negative?
Hi Bill.

Is there a reason you ask so many questions? Questing questions about questions? It got the title from the female who wrote the original work and was meant to suggest an artist's communion with nature. I couldn't think of a more appropriate title (actually I was too tired to think), so this is what happened.
Nice to see you again, Leanne.
