Leanne - "Curious" mucks up your rhythm (which I know is not rigid, but even loose it exists) -- have you thought about "a questing pen" or something two-syllable instead?
As to the title -- who would appeal to a tree as a partner, if not another tree? Dryad? The earth herself? The woman who sits in the shade and dreams? All three, and a few more options besides? It's tricky without knowing exactly what this is a response to, but then would I think it so tricky if you'd not said it was a response to something? Why can't I write a sentence that doesn't end in a question mark? Does a double negative become a positive or is it just twice as bad as a single negative?

It got the title from the female who wrote the original work and was meant to suggest an artist's communion with nature. I couldn't think of a more appropriate title (actually I was too tired to think), so this is what happened.
