Silly Morning tune for Mary Kate

9-17-07

I was thinking about the way the clouds
tangerine at night, then pout in the dawn
I was thinking about the words, "I'm so proud
of you son." but God, I know that is wrong.

The myth lands on her feet
every dream incomplete
and I say,"Mary
Mary
Mary Kate...
I'm glad that you're great
but... what else?"

I was dreaming about the way the cars
snore through their tail, and the frost won't melt
I was dreaming about the words, "not too far
we're almost there." But god, that's not how it felt

The myth falls to the ground
every song without sound
and I sigh, "Mary
Mary
Mary Kate...
I'm glad you're great
but... what else?"

I was singing about the way the birds
salsa on the city steret, and breadcrusts can't flee
I was singing about the words,"I love you
too." but God, please is it true, tell me ?

The myth laughs in my face
Lord, I.m such a disgrace
and i cry,"Mary
Mary
Mary Kate
I know, I know you're great
but... what else?
what else?
what else can I be
mary mary mary kate
tell me please
is it too late
for me to be
something else?"
