I'd Like To Be...

I’d like to be an Eagle
Soaring through the sky
Gliding on a swift breeze
But I’m afraid to fly

I’d like to be a Peacock
As proud as proud can be
Strutting my bright feathers
But I’m too shy you see

I’d like to be a wolf
I’d growl and I’d bark
Howling at the full moon
But I’m afraid of the dark

I’d like to be a lion
The King of Beast I’d be
But my mom says I’m allergic
And cats aren’t good for me

I’d like to be a Kangaroo
And jump around the town
Bouncing on my springy feet
But I’m afraid that I’ll fall down

I’d like to be a Zebra
Running wild and free
A black and white stallion
But stripes don’t flatter me

I’d like to be a dolphin
I’d swish my tail and jet
Down deep into the ocean
But I don’t like being wet

I’d like to be a Billy Goat
And see the mountain sights
I’d trot straight up the steepest slopes
But I’m afraid of heights

I’d like to be a pig
And munch on food all day
Rolling in the filthy mud
But what would people say?

I’m glad that I am me
Just the way I am
I wouldn’t want to be
Anything but what I am
