SOMNOLENT

SOMNOLENT

White sheet,
My precarious protection…..
I draw you around me.
I sit within your chalky white ring
As your numbness is my allowance
For emotions that are thoroughly spent.

My alleviation, from crushing thoughts
That trouble me in this crumbling sleep.
But you will be diminished and washed away
With the tide of time
And so, I watch for them…..

They are waiting for that moment,
Watching me with glassy black eyes.
They have come for me,
Now that I have no champion.......

They have come,
For the wounded animal
That wandered off alone,
And your thin white line…..
Cannot stop them.

this reminds me of dreams i have. this is both terrifying and inevitable. i like this.

Sometimes I wonder if men and women really suit each other. Perhaps they should live next door and just visit now and then.
