Infinite Monkeys. Infinite Typewriters.
More in Poetry For JayneThis Poem "For Jayne" came about after a prolonged period of non writing. I have never been what you might call a prolific writer but this period of abstainence had been longer than usual.I am a great fan of Cliffort T Ward singer songwriter now deceased and he has a record entitled "Jayne from Andromeda spiral".
At the time of writing I was moving my life in a different direction and Jayne way out in space in another world seemed the ideal choice of recipient for this verse.
For Jayne
From winter sterile harshness, Emerges the chrysalis of a dawning spring, Angry clouds have shed their frosty tears, To nourish new life, growth, give hope, Naked bushes adorned with crystalised webs, Give way to new season buds and blossom,
Best of all my special friends, Wild birds burst into songs of joy, New lambs at play in open fields, Or greedily suckling their mothers milk, Sunlit shadows first time cast, Whilst tree breezes gently murmur "avanti",
This writer's quill so long in silence, Refusing memories light of day, Like an iceberg, obscure in murky waters, He keeps thoughts of her confined in his darkness, But asks her now "Where are you?" Is the vision with him only in his dream,
The pen resumes in his left hand, A new spiritual journey it is time, To view the Earth's magnificence, Roam in seclusion perhaps for eternity, Happy in his own unique way, searching, Seeking a reason, time will not divulge.
