Two Nights and a Day

Originally posted 4-15-06
hair swept in wind,
brief kisses in the hallway
I'm tired.

An ungodly morning hour,
mess of wires and cables on the floor:
the perfect tone

Aching limbs,
the tree outside the window bows down
is that my phone or the clock?

The bus barrels by
two men with heavy bags,
late again.

Late afternoon
lunch with company,
I'm not hungry.

In bed alone,
my laptop burns my stomach;
brief emails.

No suggestions or critique here. I just wanted to say I really enjoyed this write. The juxtaposition and how each stanza relates but is isolated also is so well done. It's just very effective and evocative.

Thanks for posting it.
