SURFACING ON ETERNITY

((( An Attempt to Examine the Human Condition )))

The Long Journey Home

All of God's interest lies in what is REAL
((( nothing real in actual truth ever really dies )))

Examine the workings of the human maze

You'll find a labyrinth of confusing networks

All divisions and interconnecting pathways

Beautiful gardens of uninterrupted patterns

From the starting point toward the goal

Enough bewilderment and astonishment

To stupefy and daze

With great tangles becoming snarls

Turning into tunnels of wonders to explore

Inexplicable governing laws of nature

With their puzzlements and doubt

Ancient perplexity and psychic paradox

Many marvelous sudden feelings

Of splendor and surprise

Life filled with curiosity

Seeking out the cause

Some theatrical sensations

Back dropped as they are

With phenomenal revelations

Frequent unforeseen amazement

Of what the human can endure

And some exciting happiness

Treading on the pathways

Of the long journey to explore

Finding infinite eternal vastness

While returning to the core

Myriads of individual difference

In our earthly ebb and flow

Innumerable mosaic variance

Chaotic every one of those

Complex volumes of a lifetime

Await and calculate perfection

Cardinal multiplicity to behold

Product of tens and thousands

Such universal chace and gold

The strength to climb a mountain

Following Grande Divine Design

And in some weaker moments

The strength to barely breathe

Like managing mighty rivers

Oldest adherences are these

Part of a vast continuum

Our learning from the ground

Involvement within activity

Functioning rules within the laws

Little streams become the rivers

So then the mighty rivers roll

All headed toward the seashore

Sluice gates are all wide open

Not to dam up too much liquid

Life needs so much as fluid

Old wisdom that I am told

From the earliest beginnings

Spirit moves forward to the past

Another cycle on the great wheel

The stars still shining down

Those rivers building oceans

For the sun to turn to rain

Just like so many lifetimes

Turning nothing into gain

Life goes back to empty

Understanding into void

Our souls seek out renewal

Not withdrawal or retreat

Nothingness finds everything

No more battles in defeat

Our self becoming one again

Duality left off behind

Seeking out acceptance

Waiting somewhere to be found

Memory becomes my blessing

A retrograde I seek

Shining so much brighter

Together we are meek

On the edge of everything

Some tears throughout the year

Life closes by agreement

I actually agree with the author's note at the end. The irony is that the note made me rethink the poem in a more ironic comedic way and wonder if that was intentiona. Regardless, It seemed a over-much to me. I hard trouble pushing through. I don't generaly dislike long poetry, but this seemed light on poetics and more a sort of universal-existential primal cry of some sort.
