Das Vergessen

Tödliche Liebe

A Mottled shark
Unknown power that it is
Swims through my mind
Unmoved by my presence

Or is it that it does not see me

No

I know this visage
Many times has it hunted in my dreams

Always it is the same

The foraging among a billion bloated corpses
A feeding frenzy of such magnitude
That I wake with the sense that part of me is missing

Always that is

Until today

For today I awoke
Knowing its power

I sensed the inherent violence
Barely controlled by a benevolent mind
A mind of unending clarity

And this mind knew me
For it finally deigned to recognise my presence

It's smile one to destroy minds
A face to plant fear in the hearts of the most capable soldier
For this face showed no fear
Only intent

This mottled shark was only a symbol
It is the power
The truth of my dreams

This shark was forgetfulness
Devouring all memories

Now it would devour itself

I lie here
Waiting
Expectant
Forgetting
