Shakespeare's Monkeys

Infinite Monkeys. Infinite Typewriters.

More in Cats with Opposed Thumbs, Chalices of Mucus, and Several other Oddities to Avoid Whilst Poeting

telling Ellen what she can't see until her new glasses come in

draft

i could be a tuna fish
and you could be some bread
we could eat together
until both of us were dead
the silly things around us
will be the silly things we said
the puddles of our tears
will be clear til they turn red

from the blood we placed in our poetry
you be the bread and the tuna will be me

i could be a melon
and you could be the seed
we could grow together
til a kid comes along to feed
upon the silly things around
never hearing how silly things are poetry
the words will be our soil
and the sun will be all we need

from the rainbow we placed in our poetry
you be the seeds and i'll just be me

i could be a monkey
and you could make me tame
i'll dance around forever
while you suck up all my fame
from all the silly things around
the only sound is my name
everything's a silly thing
and nothing seems the same

love will be my cage, just like poetry
you can be my tamer, and yes this monkey's really me

you can be my tamer, but this monkey's really me.
God knows that i'm a monkey, did you know each Monkey's poetry?

For some reason, I really love this poem. It is sweet without being overtly so.

----- could someone turn the world back over, I'm getting dizzy!

I am orbiting, I don't know where, but I am orbiting something!
