Shakespeare's Monkeys

Infinite Monkeys. Infinite Typewriters.

More in Cats with Opposed Thumbs, Chalices of Mucus, and Several other Oddities to Avoid Whilst Poeting

time to watch me shrug

draft
the best gold watch
will tick me off
second by second
until, in timeless
perfection i stand
like atlas

there is time
to ponder the mad
dream of heavy hope
the serene harangue
of a bitter watch
from sunset to dawn

gold reveals the beat
and the beauty, hands
caress the suffering
of each age
of guilt, gilded
and unremembered

then, ticked and open
blinding in brilliance
another day released
from another night's
shackles and poems
i awake without alarm.

Well, actually you have incorporated wonderful word play in this poem!

----- could someone turn the world back over, I'm getting dizzy!

I am orbiting, I don't know where, but I am orbiting something!
