I feel Like Hugging A Tree

Trying something different

I feel like hugging a tree
The big pine
At the edge of my yard
Next to the road
But I thought the neighbors might see
Or a car might drive by
And they'd think I'd lost it.

I feel like having a beer
But it's ten o'clock in the morning
On a Tuesday
So I made another pot of coffee instead

Maybe it's the unusual warm weather
For January's usual cold bite
I think I like global warming
Maybe it's not such a bad thing

I have a strange feeling
Rumbling about
In my gut
I can't put my finger on it
But I feel it stirring
Gaining momentum

I feel like
Something is going to happen
Not necessarily bad
Just something
I wish I was psychic
So I could talk to the dead
And know the answers

It is different from anything else of yours that I have read but that is a good thing! I love the first stanza, it brought a smile to my face and the visual is great.

----- could someone turn the world back over, I'm getting dizzy!

I am orbiting, I don't know where, but I am orbiting something!

I am so glad I am not the only one who embraces trees and touches their skin imagining veins full of sap/blood. Trees are wise, much wiser than I and not at all hyper and emotional like the poets. I could have a friend in a tree. We would get aloong well because I talk too muchj. On the serious side, I LOVE your poem. Period. Mira Mataric
