Desert Forest

Chiaki – a poem inspired by a poem

A dark tendril of loathing
Ekes its way into my consciousness
Setting things in motion
A rollercoaster ride for all
I imagine that forest
The one within that poem
A place where loves lost victims
Would die to call home
I shudder and back away
More reverence than fright
For I know that I'm not worthy
Of dying there tonight
For I've not yet suffered
Enough for them this life

This desert forest of darkness
It's all that I see
The marbled sculpture of a breast
Shattered at my feet
So as the sun sets down
On the sands of my heart
And the wind starts to tear me apart
The lovers know not of this stranger
They hadn't warned them of the danger
