Decisions

Torn
Riddled by indecision
To go or stay
Where to live?
Will she forgive?
Love; unrequited
He never did
She cared far more
Than he ever did
His bridled passion
Hurt her more
Than if he had ignored
So now he knows what he must do
Depart
But with dignity
Forgive himself for selflessness
For caring enough
And needing a place
When times were tough
After all these decisions
What does he find
That woman
That's been on his mind
Perfect laugh
Quicksilver eyes
That knowing smile
Sultry sigh
It makes things harder
Now what to do?
To bow out gracefully
And miss the chance
Or take the chance
And burn his bridges.

I know the answer
And yet I fear
That she'll reject me
Already a tear
Or is it at the thought
Of one quiet night
When they hold each other
And turn off the light
