Knowledge II

Feeling the fool
Assuming the worst
Tearing the best
He can only write
What's in his chest
Ever the actor
He feigns disdain
Whilst all the while
Her name is a refrain
Stumbling over
Disjointed rhymes
An indicator
For his state of mind
Addled and stressed
He must confess
That these feelings
Create some distress
He doesn't care
For truth be known
It's a feeling
He's seldom known
So if naught happens
He'll feel the pain
Write some more
Maybe feel again
That sense of fear
That comes with love
Whether unrequited
Or wedded bliss
But above all
More than a gentle kiss
Is for her to know
All of this
