Millipede

I saw this critter, a red light millipede, I shit you not. Lots of little segments, occasional big one. Some battered some fresh. It's little legs pumping slowly, you could see the desire to break free, to lunge headlong, full steam a fuckin' head. Little read lights at the rear of each segment, blazing white ones at the front. The red light millipede moved its staggering way home, a crawling king snake, and no idea where it's going. It is relentless and knows it'll get there. I tell you though, if it weren't for the red moths at every crossroads, the red light millipede would have been home by now.
