Snake Charmed

Softly singing in the moonlight
The snake crooned for its feed
It rose up from its lair
Ready to lure its prey
It danced under the lurid lights
Pumped up for its feeding frenzy
Its prey lured
It settled into the ceremony
Playing with its dinner
As a cat would a mouse
Taunting the victim
Not letting it out
Then
The ceremony complete
The snake spat out its venom
He devoured his hapless victim
Blood washing his soul

Later
The man disposed of the body

The girls' father still misses her
