night train

the migraine express
roars through my head
more or less
on schedule most nights,

derailing sleep
at 2:30
in a high-balling,
rail-screech of
“All aboard!”

that empties daytime
plans and desires
along the tracks
with the bony slag
and diesel residue.

"All aboard"  is followed by an "emptying." Sometimes I read this and say, "Yes!" Sometimes I read it and think, ok, there's the emptying, now what actually boarded that train? I know -- or I think I know -- it's the pain, the migraine itself. But, still. Anyhoo, that's my two cents.

Other than that, the metaphors are crisp enough, and fairly well-developed. Perhaps you might want to add a train wreck at an intersection.
