Shakespeare's Monkeys

Infinite Monkeys. Infinite Typewriters.

More in Words, paradoxes, metaphors...you name it they all come alive in poetry or prose.

The Color of my Passion

After having been on a writing hiatus for several months I am trying to get back in the groove again!

Melancholy orbs

of translucent blue

bore thoughts

into yours

of lightest green.

Aquatic rivulets

trickle down

sun mauved cheeks

to land on

pink lips and mix with

droplets of crimson blood

oozing from the bite

of pearly fangs.

The color of my passion though,

is vermilion.

This seems a bit cliche to me. I like a few turns of phrase, but on the whole it didn't grab me at all. Still, at least you're writing again, big kudos for that! Keep going! Keep going!
