Vacation

Vacation

I look forward to hot summer days

On sandy beaches with ole Sol

Baking our skin as we bask in

His rays and daydream of nothing

In particular.

Soft ocean breezes cooling

Irritated reds, dipped in salty water,

From the effects of too much exposure.

Careful and careless because the day

Was good and we understood at the

End of it, there was soothing lotions

And a night out on the town.

Pretty bright lights and loud music

To extend the days exuberance.

Falling into bed from total exhaustion

Of too much shopping, submersing

Ourselves in different life styles and

Cultures; viewing historic events

With remnants of left over evidence.

Painful realizations there's only

A few days left till we leave our

Lost days of paradise and return

To the grind of normal with the bustle

And rush of crowding thoughts

Crashing in.... still to take a few minutes

Break and sigh over what we miss.

I can relate to this sentiment very much. It's why i never take 1 week vacations anymore if i can help it. 2 week minimum.
