Sheesh, I want someone to write poems like this to me! (sulk)
sorry, reviewing skills have deserted me completely, but it does remind me of a peom by Marvin Bell (I have it on one of my poetry CDs - oh the nerdiness!) in it's simple expression of love. nicely done - but I still think you should capitalize your "I"s....
"To Dorothy" by Marvin Bell
You are not beautiful, exactly.
You are beautiful, inexactly.
You let a weed grow by the mulberry
And a mulberry grow by the house.
So close, in the personal quiet
Of a windy night, it brushes the wall
And sweeps away the day till we sleep.
A child said it, and it seemed true:
"Things that are lost are all equal."
But it isn't true. If I lost you,
The air wouldn't move, nor the tree grow.
Someone would pull the weed, my flower.
The quiet wouldn't be yours. If I lost you,
I'd have to ask the grass to let me sleep.

That is absolutely phenomenal. I love it. I think I'll steal it and put my name on it.

On my CD it's performed by the author.... I quite like him. (like ALL the poets, the Ode to a Cockroach is especially moving....)
Of course I would have absolutely NO knowledge of anything to do with name switching... and would NEVER tell Marvin....
