I'd like this one even better with a pronoun at the end, i.e. "your soul."  that's probably just me though.

I've been mulling that for the last 2 days. It seems to me that the more universal language SHOULD make this more widely relevant, but on the other hand the lack of the specific weakens the impact in a perceptible way. I am torn on which way to go with this.

moving from the general to the more specific makes it more ominous.  which in turn makes it more humorous.  if it were mine, though, I'd be going back and forth just like you.  I always do.
