wild love on western slopes

DRAFT

Your long hair trots along sunset
red like a mustang's heartbeat
stolen and ridden into the hungry west

Your eyes hang like Venus
by Luna's silver thumbnails
then chime with every summer gust

Hoofbeats herald your arrival
pound wild on the rising plain
parts of my long withered songs

rhythm gone, meaning too we
lurch and laugh along where honey
flows down our backs gold silver

whisps of moonbeams canter
this crazy talk of eternity as
I say I love you.

Tracey - on June 14 2007
I like the horse theme, love that last stanza; I find it poignant.
