Shakespeare's Monkeys

Infinite Monkeys. Infinite Typewriters.

More in Shan's Crap (Shannon McEwen)

Be "Mused"

Where has she gone that traitorous bitch
Itching, fixing to leave at the first chance
Glancing directly into the mid summer sun
Unbidden desires blinded by big ambitions

Missionary position overused and long clichéd
Betrayed by the lure of the exotic movements
Monuments made from fine silks and satin panties
Ranting vulgar promises from smooth thighs

Skies gone dark, speckled with forbidden clouds
Shrouded by the underside of the bastard moon
Soon she’ll come back to my bleeding pen
When greatness is placed on the succulent table

Fabled to bring forth the new beginning of time
Rhyming in perfect sequence in pure metric bliss
Kisses along the curved line of her perfect cheek
Reeking of dissension and a falsely claimed prophet

Go, girl! Looks like the "connie" has gotten a hold of you but good. Maybe the form is your muse...? I like!

Sorry I'm not more articulate; just getting out from under some mild anesthesia. La-la-la...

OK, it is a connlachnoonie whatever. As e e cummings would say, “Pretty tricky!” That makes it inventive, possibly interesting in a curious way. But is it artful?

While it's a bit off-form, i think it's close enough for gubmint work, and i also think it's fun and interesting to read. The title gives enough of a clue that i could figure out what your'e talking about, which I appreciate -- because I'm a lazy bastard, and I get frustrated when I can't figure out what things are about. I do think it lacks a little in terms of relevance, which isn't the end of the world, it somewhat makes up for that in graceful presentation. I'm not sure what to say I'd do with it if I were you, I suppose, you could tighten it to the form, ridding it of some of the slightly imperfect rhymes and such.
