Shakespeare's Monkeys

Infinite Monkeys. Infinite Typewriters.

More in Just a Nastey Journal

Just a fact..

I realize it's silly for me to waste my breath here, but still, i just have to say this: I am incredibly excited about this magazine.

We've got many works already ready to publish, and more on the way, and every single one of them has been haggled and nit-picked. These works are the kind of pieces that astonish and amaze. I have read all of them at least 10x -- and still none of them bore me in the least.

I am excited to share them, I am excited for the authors, many of whom are unpublished. I am excited for the editorial staff who are beyond amazing.

This is the greatest project I've ever been involved in. I've done almost nothing in my life that makes me any more proud. There is not a single work in here that is 'filler.' Every one of these is worthy of great accolades.

Yes. It's that good.

The cover.

The poetry.

The story.

Now, soon, we'll have art.

I could collapse in a big heap of holy shit, but I'll try not to.

Dear boy

Calm down or you'll burst a blood vessel. Have a nice cup of tea and two chocolate biscuits!

I am beyond delighted.  The creativity is almost viral right now, reproducing and mutating furiously.  Sure, it causes toothaches... and a bit of verbal diarrhoea... actually it might be the verbal diarrhoea getting stuck in the teeth that causes the toothache.  Anyway.  It's uber exciting.

And the seal is flippering fantastic.

Reading this, I both laughed with joy and had goosebumps. Yeah, it really is that wonderful.  Taking writings we love by people we know and showcasing them in the zine is an unexpectedly fabulous thrill. Being turned on to wonderful writers whom  I've never read before feeds my soul.

Everyone working on this is putting so much thought, heart, time and monkey-ality into it. I feel blessed.

Julie, the seal rocks like there's no tomorrow!

Eep!

D'oh! In that case, I'm going to go live my ass off now.

I'm very excited too, considering the talented people putting it together, it's sure to be incredible
