The Booger Monster

I think this is funny but I'm beginning to wonder if others/editors find it distasteful.

The slimy booger monster
Lives deep inside your nose,
Growing snots and boogers
Planting them in rows.

In the land of boogers
He waters, weeds and hoes.
Tending to his snot fields,
Up inside your nose.

He picks the biggest boogers
Knows just when they’re ripe,
Shoves them down your nostrils
With a monstrous swipe.

He clogs your nose with boogers
Makes you poke and dig.
Picking with your fingers
For boogers much too big.

He makes his boogers sticky
Coats them with snot glue.
Grows them extra icky
That's why they stick to you.

That slimy booger monster
Who lives inside your nose,
Knows a nose, I suppose
And how a booger grows.

Yes!  Totally distasteful to my sensibility but I'm quite sure your intended audience would think it hilarious!  Actually, what I really love is the last stanza because the way the words rhyme and flow is particularly catchy.  I think the imagery would really grab at a school age child.   You must find it challenging to bridge the gap between editors and your audience.

I think the key for you is going to be finding the right editor/agent that really understands what you're doign and your market. Because when you find the right one, you're going to take off. You've got such a cute little niche in the young childrens market... It's sad that your'e not appreciated yet.
