i rage

a ladybug zzzz
zips by on hard

scarlet and black
speckled wings

mourning begins
with memories

burnt oats, skin
rouged, water

boiling on black
wood stove inside

leaves rot under
leather shod foot

shadow from a beech
tree waves in wind

from over spring
fed waters.

the air thick with
mountain

the day thin
and clouds docile

the ladybug zzz
zips by on hard

sun's rays blistering
asphalt -- my hands

sore from wringing
from work, from
held-less-ness.

gone, gone
she is gone.

Should be “asphalt”. Despite all the beautiful imagery, the loneliness comes through especially strong because of the fact that it’s revealed indirectly – within all the images you refer to – and also because you delay it until the last 3 lines, where you punch it in our gut. It’s very effective at conveying its expression.
