i think, this one shows a bit of the style that i've leaned towards over the years. It's sort of 'early-stephanic' 
He passed his time, once
(when the cigars were cuban
legal and the scent was sweet
without iridium
or other metals sharing electrons)
under Deneb with her twinkle
white and glaring at martians.
I admired him
he dreamed of crosses
burning high above Australia
unfettered by conviction
and holy in a sea of black.
i think he was wondering
if perhaps the passion burning
was for Julie
or the stars.
