though i stand in the shadow
beseiged by blind hearts
dread spears of fear
and fiery arsenal of despair

riding the silver spoked smiles
of my cuddled youth

camouflaged in the stolen sighs
of japanese grandfather's
fishing for carp.

armed with the glinting
knives of hope

and the dread muskets
of real, and true
