that this beastial verb
grind peace into the hearts
of the of the anti-war zealots
and angry feminists. lord,
hear our prayer.

that this noun
hold our place
in the comfortable heaven
of a silly little life half-lived. lord,
hear our prayer.

Lord,
we are not worthy
for such phrases
such as these

but if you will it
each sentence will be ours

and the prison of our thoughts
will be freedom eternal.
