shedding light on our history

nothing too deep or profound. Just a thought.
There was no 60-watt bulb
and the wire was worn and cracked
so i carefully replaced both
in the antique brass lamp

before i brought it downstairs
to the parlor and set it next to
the used piano she inherited
before we were married.

They looked right together
for a while,

but eventually
we moved the lamp
to the family room.
