More in Fooling Around

the path of a beginning to a middle

the rush
i hear the water splashing in the bathroom
as he soaps and lather's, shampoos and conditions

ponders the sunlight, the coming full moon
the cloudless sky and memories of his great grandfather

without pomp, she calls the warning,
"Ten Minutes."

The water stops, the rustle of towel
and a loud sigh tells me he heard her

His thirteen-year-old feet stomp towards his clothes
under his breath, his chin is warmed with hateful muttering

i have arrive here in the land of Dad
penniless and soul-hungry

craving unattainable love
and jujubes.

"5 Minutes."
He chafes under the pressure of now

I wonder about later
when everything is real

Will he cry?

This is really funny, endearing and  moving in a life questioning way... I like the jujubes.  I wondered why you chose that, but what could be better I say.

I don't really care much for jujubes, but I like the sound of the word.
