Lent is over.
I am not Catholic,
I suppose - though
I've recited the same creed
since I was old enough
to know.
Still,
for 40 days
I gave up something
and ate fish on fridays
Today,
they will celebrate
the joyful return
of their king
Laying palms at his feet
and singing hymns of rejoice
I will say nothing
and smile
Next week,
he will die.
