i watched you place the wax-paper fast-food cup

half-full of doctor pepper on the table
and told you, "if you're not going to finish it

throw it out." but you ignore me.
and it sat there for five days
slowly disolving.

tonight, when you get home
i'll remind you
and you'll go to pick it up
and the bottom will fall out.

don't worry,
I won't help you pick up the mess.
