Caramel Brown SPICE

Spice was my first pet. I don't remember life as a child when he was not there. He died in a very unfortunate way.

He laid at peace in the yard side
Still as the earth,
where my neighbor placed him
Caramel spice brown
Baby pants tugger buddy

I never got to witness his goodbye
It happened quick as an uncaring cement truck ride
That Left him lifeless in the road

No more pants tugging
No more ear scratching
No more treat feeding
Just a sense of emptiness

I dug his final resting place
Right where he lay
I was 13 he was 11

I think a part of me went with him
A piece of my childhood erased
By a single careless act
For someone who never even cared to stop

For all the companions to follow
He was their comparison
Gritty hard headed fighter
Baby pants tugger
Ear scratch lover
Caramel brown SPICE

I think the repetition basically works, but I don't like the use of capitals at the end to accentuate your point. I think it's clear without them.
