Designer Baggage (Terza Rima)

Schizophrenic emotions flood my mind
Caught between the past and this time
Do I hit fast forward or should I rewind?

Why does it seem to be an uphill climb?
A love worth my complete attention
Conflicts with the anger past its prime

Let me break free from prior dissension
And walk into what the future predicts
Let our love be my life long convention

No more aged arguments just for kicks
Enough is enough of painful ties
Let my memory fade as time inflicts

To the past I will say my final goodbyes
And peel the old way of life bravely aside
And let this new life be my well won prize

Although in this I must honestly confide
It's not easy trusting this fresh love I feel
When the bitterness lingers here inside
